I tried a couple of stalks to check it was not just one piece that was problematic, and then spoke to the waitress. Nothing compared to other 3 Michelin stars standards. Having eaten at loads of Michelin starred establishments, I don't rate Le Palais a 3 star at all. I paid 3 visits to the restaurant between 2011-2 and the food got worse each time. The dining room is smartly decorated, each table set in its own screened off area and being carefully lit. The one downside was the speed of service. We also enjoyed the fried rice noodle with crab meat and eggs, with the smokiness from the wok frying just at the right level. They had brought back the false taboulé! I usually order food from them once or twice a week, and don't miss a chance to go there for either work lunches or dinner with mates while watching football. Although each dish was not a big serve we were very full by the end of the meal. We weren't pleased because the chicken was too greasy and the humus too oily. You can see lots of fat dripping down. But the booking here wasn’t easy. When we received our dishes, we found out that there wasn't any...couscous in the taboulé.

TWD They also have very nice staff and hospitality.I would highly recommend Le Palais… has a great atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and quick, hence why it can get very busy in the evenings. Well set dining facilities, lots of space, good aircon, pleasant ambiance. They also have very nice shawarmas, falafels and taouks. But for my standards it would barely receive a one star. Like the halls of L' Opera de Paris, the Grand Hall stands five meters high, with its ceiling adorned in lifelike copper foil canopies that are matched with sixteen crystal chandeliers to evoke a classic French charm.
We chose one of their set menus. Le Palais is a really nice restaurant. Clams were on the chewy side, and the noodles themselves had inconsistent texture, with some quite hard, undercooked clumps. The glass walls provide diffused natural lighting that creates a vibrant atmosphere in the rooms. The decor is intimate. We were lucky the kitchen closed at 23:00. I am a native French speaker and my friend is fluent in Lingala.
